Restaurant Review – Ocean Delight, Netley

Having seen the special offer on the website we decided to try the Ocean Delight Indian restaurant in Netley, with good results.

We were pleasantly greeted by the friendly owner and shown to our table.  Service throughout was attentive and not intrusive.  The restaurant itself is tastefully set out in a green and white decor and comfortably heated.

We began with two starters, onion bahji and meat samosa, (sharing one of each).  Both were light and spicy.

We followed with our favourites, lamb dhansak and chicken dupiaza, together with side dishes of cauliflower bhaji and sag aloo, rice and naan.  All were delicately flavoured, the naan fluffy, the dhansak sweet and  picante, the dupiaza with just the right balance of onion and sauce.

With two coffees and two half-lagers the bill came to less than £25 for two.  All in all, the food was excellent and especially good value for less than ten pounds each,  plus drinks, (the special according to the owner is offered on a Tuesday and Wednesday night).

In summary – highly recommended and great value.
