Folland (Hamble) Cricket Club

Folland (Hamble) Cricket Club is a multi-cultural village club based at GE Aviation in Hamble. The club currently runs two Saturday senior sides and both have enjoyed success in 2013 by winning their respective league titles. The two sides play in the Hampshire League, and in 2014 the 1st team will be in County Division 3 South and the 2nds in Regional Division 2 South. During the season they are also looking to provide a good selection of Sunday Friendlies for those who like a more leisurely and social paced game. The club caters for players of all ages and abilities, and also provides coaching and games to all local budding junior cricketers. Indoor nets are usually held during March and April with club outdoor practice evenings each Thursday during the season, from April onwards.

Home games are played at Folland Park within the GE Aviation site in Kings Avenue, Hamble.

The club is currently building up a youth academy in conjunction with the local primary schools and ‘A Chance to Shine’ scheme supported by The Hampshire Cricket Board. They offer cricket coaching for children for the U11 age group but as numbers grow, wish to extend this to higher age groups. Over the last three years helped by the kind sponsorship of local businesses, they have been holding regular coaching sessions at the Hamble Community School and in the summer months will continue outside at the club ground on Tuesday evenings between 5 and 6pm. In 2014, the section will be running a junior side in the Winchester Warriors League with games being played on Sunday mornings or Monday evenings. All home games will be played at Folland Park and residents are welcome to come along and support these local children. Any young player interested in joining in, please contact Andy Burgess on 07949848496 or email andyburgess518@btinternet.com

The club has always aimed to provide a strong family and friendly atmosphere with regular social events held throughout the year and at present is actively looking for new players for the 2014 season.
